Plan 9 from Outer Space is now in the Public Domain and available as a free download! I love when copyrights finally expire like they're supposed to.

Via my brother: Under Byen "Plantage". Quite a fun little flash movie.

Anyone looking for a rocket powered car? It's an MR2. Amazing what you can find on eBay...The best part of the auction is the small blurb at the end, "based upon some of the questions I have had asked, be prepared to sign a long liability waiver."

7 Series BMWs will have thermal vision built-in, to assist in driving. Automatic high-beams as well, so you don't have to worry about forgetting to switch them off and blinding some oncoming driver.

Dr. David Thorpe's (of SomethingAwful) appearance on G4 TV. Definitely hilarious to watch. I love the awkward silence at the end. They even set up the fake website at the end of the video right here.

The backstory (Lowtax runs SomethingAwful):

"Lowtax: I think you should concentrate on making SA seem like the worst site in the world. Come off as a real jerk. Refer to SA by the wrong name, like "Something Is Awful dot com" or "Some Things Awful." Make up facts about the site. Claim I'm in jail. Say we're being investigated by the FBI.

Lowtax: Seriously, make sure everything you say is 100% wrong. Don't answer any questions legitamately. I want people who never heard of SA before the interview to think it's a horrible site and never want to visit.

Lowtax: say I couldn't do the interview because I'm under house arrest

Lowtax: If I look at the SA stats and notice traffic has spiked after your interview, I'm going to know you did a terrible job

This internetTV thing is kind of neat, even if it is just streaming. They have a lot of different series as well, including Macguyver, Lost, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Simpsons, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I made a convenient map of the Quakertown Geocaches.

If anybody has any idea when the W800i comes out, I'd really like to know.

A new LCD screen allows you to watch two different things at once, depending on whether you see it from the left side or the right side. So while Alyssa is watching Dawson's Creek, Nate could be playing Halo. Of course, they'd need to figure out what to do about the sound...

This autosentry is either the coolest thing I've ever seen or the scariest thing I've ever seen.

I found this friendly toad at work today. I think he lives in a brick.

Buy your own giant robot mech off of Ebay. Bids start at $40,000, act now before it sells out :-P

Found some interesting projects. There's a DIY Projector and a LCD-in-the-side of your Computer hack.

I was screwing around with Google Maps and made a map of some of the bamboo locations around Quakertown. You can actually see a lot of the spots where the bamboo is because most of it is in the winter shot satellite photos and the bamboo is an evergreen. Make your own maps with custom points using this page.

Mobile GMaps - Google Maps on your mobile phone! I can't get it to work on my phone, but hopefully you'll have more luck. Beth, you can probably get it to work, since you have the newest phone out of all of us.

Google Earth. I have no idea how I missed this, unless they renamed Keyhole and have it as this now.

Update: Yeah, it's definitely what used to be Keyhole. By the way, the quarry is roughly 800 ft up according to this.

Ever see a dog do a zero g maneuver? No? Here you go.

Apparently a school in Arizona is now not going to use textbooks. Instead, the kids will all have laptops and they'll use online and electronic resources to supplement teachings instead. I wish I would have had this when I was in school, I would have been on Google the whole time and not learned a thing about what the teacher was saying. Maybe it's better I didn't have that...computer class was bad enough (although I did learn how to use Fireworks, HTML, Flash, etc., if only by having to teach the other kids - teach me to be an intern).

Big Screen Viewing Effect For Mobile Phone Videos. Apparently it's some sort of glasses you wear that gives you the appearance of a 12-inch screen. It can also be hooked up other outputs, such as a dvd player or Xbox or something. Sounds good and all, but if you end up looking like Geordi La Forge, is it really worth it?

While I'm at it, here's pack 1 of Dreamcast games. It contains: 102 Dalmations Puppies to the Rescue, 18 Wheeler American Pro Trucker, 24 Hour Lemans, 4 Wheel Thunder, 4x4 Evolution, Aero Wings 2 Airstrike, Aerowings, Air Force Delta, and Alien Front Online according to Euroemu.net, who released it.

Here's a release of every SNES game ever. That's 11322 games. It's only 1.96 gig compressed, but I think it expands to something like 14 gigs, so make sure you have some space if you actually plan on extracting them all at once.

I kind of want this Spectra Physics Air-Cooled Plasma Tube Argon Ion Laser. I have no idea what I'd do with it, plus I'd need to find or make a power supply for it. But it sure does look cool.

The Blogger Comments thing at the bottom of the posts is in case you can't get the normal Comment button to work, hopefully it's more compatible with other browsers, especially for you Mac people:-P Try it out and see if you like it any better than the other one.

Blogger stole my last name...it seems to have happened to all the other blogs I've seen as well. So it might be crazy while I figure out how to get it back.

Update: Good news, I fixed it.

Build your own SMT hot air pencil - for desoldering surface mount electrical components (or you can use it to burn wood or something).

Fark Photoshop Contest: How life would change if your favorite movie prop really existed. Definitely loving the R2D2 as a vacuum cleaner.

The Cheap Cereal Hall of Fame. I clicked on the link for it at Fark and was wondering if it would have King Vitamin on it. Then I noticed the first comment in the Fark thread was: "Bah! There's no King Vitamin... this list is worthless." Make sure you look at the picture that used to be on the box, it's the first one in the thread.

The statement above is false.

Notepad Invaders, the flash remake of Space Invaders on a sheet of paper. The music is really really annoying, so beware.
